  • It is established by Government of Karnataka to act as a single point of reference to address issues concerning interests of NRIs of Karnataka spread all over the world.
  • What is its aim?
  • Its aim is to bring together the people of Karnataka and the Non Resident Indians, particularly the People of Karnataka Origin. The NRI forum has a more definite role to play. It helps in interactions with NRIs (PKOs) and also aids them in earmarking the areas of their interest. It would act as a catalyst to promote NRI (PKO) investments.  
  • How does it go about achieving it?
  • First, it builds up a database of the NRIs (PKOs) into its website. Second, it participates in, or organizes meetings, conferences, seminars, lectures and such other activities in Karnataka and abroad to throw more light on the developmental activities of Karnataka.  
  • Who can become a member of NRI forum?
  • Any NRI (PKO) who is interested in the all round progress of Karnataka and who also likes to keep in touch with the State can register himself/ herself as a member.
  • What is the membership fee?
  • There is no fee for registration.
  • Does it help arrange tours etc of NRI (PKO) to Karnataka?
  • Such help is minimal. But an aspirant tourist can get all details
    pertaining to his interest through the various entries in NRI forum website.
    But if there are further difficulties the NRI forum will certainly extend a
    helping hand.
  • Does it mean that it is only interested in investments?
  • No. A cursory look at website would convince anyone that NRI forum is interested in various aspects of Karnataka's life and culture that would be of interest to NRI (PKO).
  • To what extent does it involve itself for a NRI (PKO) to invest in Karnataka? Does it help him/ her in getting land, bank loan etc?
